Olomouc to host the FEI Dressage European Championship for children and juniors 2026

The Czech Equestrian Federation announced on Wednesday that Olomouc will host the 2026 FEI Dressage European Championships for Children and Juniors. „We are very honoured,“ said Barbora Hubáčková, the owner of the Euquine Sport Center in Olomouc.

On Wednesday, 5th June, the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) informed the General Secretary of the Czech Equestrian Federation that at its meeting in Lausanne on Tuesday, the FEI had awarded the organisation of the FEI Dressage European Championships for Children and Juniors in 2026 to the Equine Sport Center Olomouc. The date was set for August 11-16, but the owner of the centre and President of the Organising Committee of the Equine Sport Center Olomouc, Barbora Hubáčková, said that the date of the event could be moved forward or back by a week.

“Our first bid to host the FEI European Championships was submitted through our national federation last year, but despite a recommendation from the European Dressage Committee, the FEI chose another organiser for 2025. While we have built up a reputation for organising show jumping events, we are still relatively new to organising international dressage events and the FEI had not recognised us as an experienced organiser in the past. However, last year’s Dressage World Cup was a great success, and our reputation has grown. This year’s successful CDI-W in Olomouc certainly helped, and if my information is correct, we were selected in the first round this time,” said Barbora Hubáčková.

The organisers plan to use the two years of intensive preparations to further improve the facilities at the Equine Sport Center. “We want to add the fourth arena right after this year’s season is over, we were planning to build it anyway, even without being awarded the European Championships. The new 70x30m arena will be located next to the current warm-up arena and all three preparation areas, including the indoor riding arena, will be connected. I think that with four arenas we will be able to strive for more prestigious events in other disciplines too and open our venue to other sporting events,” added Barbora Hubáčková.
